Higher

Maths Higher Masterclass

For students targeting Grades 5–9. Covers algebra, simultaneous equations, quadratic graphs, trigonometry, circle theorems, and advanced problem solving.

📅 Friday 10th April · 09:00–17:00
Foundation

Maths Foundation Masterclass

For students targeting Grades 3–5. Covers fractions, percentages, ratio, basic algebra, geometry, Pythagoras, basic trig, graphs, and probability.

📅 Friday 10th April · 09:00–17:00
The Day Structure

8 hours that actually work

Each masterclass follows a proven learn → apply → review cycle. 40 minutes of targeted teaching, then 10 minutes of exam-style practice, then live feedback and model answers — repeated across 8 focused blocks.

🧠

40 mins targeted teaching

Key concepts step-by-step with exemplar exam walkthroughs. Tutors teach live and pivot to what the cohort needs.

✍️

10 mins independent practice

Students immediately apply what they've learned to exam-style questions — building muscle memory for the real papers.

📋

Live feedback & model answers

The tutor reviews responses, models high-quality answers, and shows exactly how marks are gained.

⏸️

Structured breaks

Three breaks throughout the day (15 min, 30 min, 15 min) keep energy and concentration high all the way to 5pm.

FAQ

Common questions

Isn't 8 hours too long for my child?
It's a fair question — but the day is carefully structured so students stay focused. Each block alternates between 40 minutes of teaching and 10 minutes of practice, with three proper breaks (15 min, 30 min, 15 min). Students consistently tell us the day goes quicker than expected because they're actively involved throughout.
My child is on a Grade 3 — is this too advanced?
Not at all. The Foundation Maths masterclass is specifically designed for students working at this level. We build core understanding and help secure a Grade 4 pass.
My child is already on a Grade 7 — is it still worth it?
Absolutely. We refine exam technique, eliminate careless errors, and push towards Grades 8 and 9 with extension and challenge questions.
Do you cover both calculator and non-calculator papers?
Yes — we cover both and show students when and how to use each effectively.
Do you cover the whole Maths syllabus in one day?
We focus on the topics that come up most often and the questions worth the most marks. It would be unrealistic to cover everything in 8 hours, so we prioritise high-impact areas that will move your child's grade the most.
Is this pre-recorded or live?
100% live on Zoom. No pre-recorded videos whatsoever. Our in-house tutors deliver everything in real time, so they can pivot and react to what the student cohort requires on the day. Students can ask questions throughout.
How is this different from regular tutoring?
Regular tutoring is gradual; this is intensive and exam-focused. We're Tutors Association members and Ofsted registered, and our in-house teaching team has a proven track record of delivering a minimum one grade increase through our face-to-face classes. We're bringing that same methodology online.
What does my child need on the day?
A pen, notebook, calculator, and a device with Zoom. That's it.
